How Telene collects, uses, stores, protects, and deletes information for Telene Grid and related services.

Last updated: July 6, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Telene collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you use Telene Grid, Telene websites, beta signup forms, and related services.

Telene Grid is currently in private beta. Please do not upload highly sensitive, regulated, or mission-critical data unless you are comfortable using beta-stage software.

1. Who we are

Telene provides visual analytics and reporting tools for structured data. Telene Grid helps users explore datasets, create derived columns, discover statistical patterns, and build reports.

For privacy questions, contact:

privacy@telene.app

2. Information we collect

We collect only the information needed to provide, improve, secure, and operate Telene.

Beta signup information

When you join the beta waitlist, we may collect:

  • email address
  • optional use case
  • product interest
  • signup source
  • signup date and time

We use this to manage beta access, understand potential use cases, and send relevant beta updates.

Account information

When you create an account, we may collect:

  • email address
  • name, if provided
  • authentication/session information
  • organization or team membership information
  • plan or subscription status, if applicable

Product data

When you use Telene Grid, we may store and process:

  • projects
  • datasets
  • dataset names
  • column names
  • column types
  • rows and cell values from uploaded or created datasets
  • derived columns
  • ignored rows
  • saved workspaces
  • analysis blocks
  • Grid Analyst results
  • reports and report settings
  • share settings, if you create a share link

Uploaded datasets

You may upload CSV or other structured datasets to Telene Grid. These datasets may include business, research, survey, feedback, or other information depending on what you choose to upload.

Uploaded datasets are used to provide Grid features such as column classification, table editing, derived columns, statistical analysis, Grid Analyst suggestions, visual summaries, saved workspaces, reports, and related product functionality.

Text-derived data

If you use text column features, Telene Grid may process text fields to create derived columns such as:

  • sentiment scores
  • sentiment labels
  • word counts
  • character counts
  • keyword flags
  • extracted phrases
  • text-derived categories or themes

These derived values are used to help make text columns analyzable within Grid.

Technical and usage information

We may collect limited technical information to operate and improve the service, such as:

  • browser and device information
  • approximate request metadata
  • IP address in server logs
  • pages or routes visited
  • feature usage
  • upload size
  • row and column counts
  • Grid Analyst run counts
  • API request counts, if API access is enabled
  • error and performance logs
  • created and updated timestamps

We try to avoid logging raw dataset contents. Logs should generally contain IDs, counts, technical metadata, and error information rather than user data values.

Billing information

If paid plans are introduced, payments may be handled by a payment provider such as Paddle. Paddle or another payment provider may collect billing and payment information. Telene may store payment-related metadata such as customer ID, subscription ID, plan, billing status, and renewal/cancellation status.

Telene does not store full payment card details.

3. How we use information

We use information to:

  • provide Telene Grid and related services
  • create and manage accounts
  • save projects, datasets, workspaces, reports, and settings
  • process datasets and generate analysis results
  • create derived columns
  • run Grid Analyst and other statistical features
  • provide beta access and updates
  • improve product reliability and usability
  • detect, prevent, and investigate abuse or security issues
  • respond to support requests
  • comply with legal obligations
  • manage subscriptions and billing, if applicable

4. We do not sell your data

Telene does not sell user data.

Telene does not share uploaded datasets with third parties for advertising, resale, or unrelated commercial purposes.

Telene does not use uploaded datasets to market unrelated third-party products.

5. Access to uploaded data

Telene does not manually review uploaded datasets as part of normal operations.

Access to uploaded datasets, if ever needed, is limited to situations such as:

  • providing support requested by you
  • maintaining or debugging the service
  • investigating abuse, security incidents, or policy violations
  • complying with legal obligations
  • restoring or protecting the service

Where practical, we will avoid accessing raw dataset contents and rely on metadata, logs, and user-provided details instead.

6. Third-party service providers

Telene may use trusted infrastructure and service providers to operate the product, such as:

  • Cloudflare for frontend hosting, DNS, security, and delivery
  • Railway for backend/API hosting
  • Supabase for database, authentication, and storage
  • Paddle or another payment provider for billing, if paid plans are introduced
  • email or analytics providers, if added later

These providers process information only as needed to provide their services to Telene.

7. Data sharing

We may share information only in limited cases:

  • with infrastructure providers needed to operate the service
  • with payment providers if you purchase a paid plan
  • when required by law or legal process
  • to protect Telene, users, or the service from abuse or security threats
  • with your permission or at your direction

We do not share uploaded datasets with advertisers or data brokers.

8. Data retention

We retain information for as long as needed to provide the service, maintain records, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements.

During beta, retention practices may evolve as the product matures.

You may request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting:

privacy@telene.app

Some information may remain for a limited time in backups, logs, or records required for security, legal, or operational reasons.

9. Data deletion

You can request deletion of your account and associated Telene Grid data by emailing us from your account email address.

Contact:

privacy@telene.app

We will make reasonable efforts to delete or anonymize your data, subject to legal, security, backup, and operational requirements.

10. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect user data. These may include HTTPS, account-based access controls, server-side authorization checks, database access controls, environment-variable based secret management, and restricted administrative access.

No online service can guarantee perfect security. Telene Grid is currently in beta, so please use caution when deciding what data to upload.

11. International processing

Telene and its service providers may process and store information in countries other than your own. By using Telene, you understand that your information may be processed where Telene or its providers operate.

12. Children

Telene Grid is not intended for children. Users should not use Telene Grid if they are not legally able to agree to these terms or use the service in their jurisdiction.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as Telene develops. If we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, notify users.
